My Holiday Diary

7th January 2010

Today I went to Taronga Park Zoo in Sydney. I went with my mum, dad and sister. First we all went on a walk to the camp site and then we had a snack while the zoo keepers showed some reptiles. I stroked a corn snake and a python.
After we had dinner we went on the night zoo walk. We saw lots of animals and my favourite was the lions. When we got to their cage they started to roar alot.
When we got back to the camp site we had ice cream and then went to our tents to sleep.
I slept perfectly that night.

We woke up early and went on the morning zoo walk. We fed some giraffes and touched their long, slimy, blue tongues. We walked over to drop off our luggage and the zoo keepers showed us an echidna, a koala and a possum. We got dropped off at the gorilla place and sent a letter to our grandfather.
After swimming with our friends we went to our hotel, packed our bags and went to the Botanical Gardens to see a play. We had to wear a sticker and sat on the grass and watched the Wind in the Willows. The cockatoos kept flying past and making lots of noise. There was a toad, a mole, a weasel, a rabbit, a police chief and two beavers. It was a good play.

Today we walked to the Circus from our hotel. The circus was in a huge tent in a park. The circus had lots of 'don't do this at home kids' stuff like backflips and climbing up huge poles and beds of nails and flying through the air. It was very funny. My favourite part was when the girl who introduced the play got married and got lots of presents and she asked me if i sent her a toaster. We walked back to our hotel and finished packing our bags.
